Intention to Review the Approved Code of Practice for Pressure Equipment (Excluding Boilers) (2001)

Notice that the Secretary of Labour has asked the Minister of Labour to review the code of practice pursuant to section 20(1)(a) of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992.
The current code sets out a statement of preferred work practices or arrangements for the health and safety practices for pressure equipment.
There have been a number of proposed changes to the Pressure Equipment Cranes and Passenger Roadways Regulations, Standards and guidance material for pressure equipment.
Accordingly we are seeking input and feedback on the current code.
The current code is available on the Department of Labour’s website

It is intended that the reviewed code would apply to the pressure equipment industry with other key stakeholders including engineers and those who utilise pressure equipment.
Interested parties are invited to comment on the proposed code.
Written submissions in relation to the approval of this code can be made by mail to Pressure Equipment Approved
Code of Practice Submissions, Technical Services, Department of Labour, PO Box 3705, Wellington, or email standards@dol.govt.nz with the subject line Pressure Equipment Approved Code of Practice Submissions.
Submissions close on Friday 9 April 2010.
Dated at Wellington this 18th day of February 2010.
