Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:
- 2 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(b) - Safe Ship Management Systems - Ships which do not proceed beyond restricted limits, fishing ships, and ships of less than 45 metres in length which are not required to comply with section 1 - Entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management System - New Zealand Safe Ship Management Certificate issued by Director
- 3 from Maritime Rule 40A.18(2) - Design, Construction and Equipment - Passenger ships which are not SOLAS ships - General Passenger Ships - Passenger accommodation - Seating - Allowance of 450mm seating for each person if continuous fixed seating installed
- 3 from Maritime Rule 40A.18(3) - Design, Construction and Equipment - Passenger ships which are not SOLAS ships - General Passenger Ships - Passenger accommodation - Seating - Provision of ready escape with passage ways between fixed seating
- 3 from Maritime Rule 40A.33(1)(e) - Design, Construction and Equipment - Passenger ships which are not SOLAS ships - General Passenger Ships - Machinery - Petrol inboard and outboard engines - Not more than 12 passengers carried on ship
- 7 from Maritime Rule 40C.29(2)(e) - Design, Construction and Equipment - Non-passenger ships that are not SOLAS ships - Machinery - Petrol inboard and outboard engines - Auxiliary outboard engine of sufficient power for safe return to port or safe haven
- 1 from Maritime Rule 46.17(1)(b) - Surveys, Certification and Maintenance - Ships which do not proceed beyond restricted limits, fishing ships, and ships of less than 45 metres in length that are not required to comply with section 1
- Inspections - Propeller shafts and rudder stocks with water lubricated bearings at intervals not exceeding four years
