Notice of Exemption from Maritime Rules: 21.9(1)(b); 21.13(1)(b); 31C.10, Table 3; 40A.10(1)(a); 40A.10(1)(b); 40E.32.7; 46.17(1)(b); 47.8(2)(a); 47.8(2)(b)

Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:
- 1 from Maritime Rule 21.9(1)(b) - Safe Ship Management Systems - Ships which do not proceed beyond restricted limits, fishing ships, and ships of less than 45 metres in length which are not required to comply with section 1 - Application of section 2 - commercial ship, other than fishing ship which does not proceed beyond restricted limits
- 5 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(b) - Safe Ship Management Systems - Ships which do not proceed beyond restricted limits, fishing ships, and ships of less than 45 metres in length which are not required to comply with section 1 - Entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management System - New Zealand Safe Ship Management Certificate issued by Director
- 2 from Maritime Rule 31C.10, Table 3 - Crewing and Watchkeeping Fishing Vessels - Operating Areas - Offshore Area - applicable minimum crew specified in Table 3
- 1 from Maritime Rule 40A.10(1)(a) - Design, Construction and Equipment - Passenger ships which are not SOLAS ships - General Passenger Ships - Application of section 1 - passenger ship used as a ferry, excursion ships, cruising ship, training ship, water taxi or sports fishing boat
- 1 from Maritime Rule 40A.10(1)(b) - Design, Construction and Equipment - Passenger ships which are not SOLAS ships - General Passenger Ships - Application of section 1 - passenger ship during a voyage not wholly submerged below surface of water at any time
- 1 from Maritime Rule 40E.32.7 - Design, Construction and Equipment - Sailing Ships - Machinery - Inlets and discharges - pipe that carry seawater constructed of metal acceptable to surveyor
- 1 from Maritime Rule 46.17(1)(b) - Surveys, Certification and Maintenance - Ships which do not proceed beyond restricted limits, fishing ships, and ships of less than 45 metres in length that are not required to comply with section 1 - Inspections - propeller shafts and rudder stocks with water lubricated bearings at intervals not exceeding four years
- 1 from Maritime Rule 47.8(2)(a) - Load lines - Ships of 24 metres or more in length - Owner’s and master’s obligations - compliance with Load Line Convention
- 1 from Maritime Rule 47.8(2)(b) - Load lines - Ships of 24 metres or more in length - Owner’s and master’s obligations - ship not proceed on voyage unless surveyed, maintained and marked in accordance with this Section and Load Line Convention
