Notification of Proposal to Make Ordinary Rules

In accordance with section 34(1)(a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice of his intention to make the following ordinary Civil Aviation Rules:
CAR Part 121 Air Operations - Large Aeroplanes (EDTO)
The purpose of this rule-making proposal is to consult further with interested parties on a change to the proposed requirements for operating twin turbine engine aeroplanes on extended range operations that were consulted in NPRM 08/01 (New Zealand Gazette,
17 January 2008, No. 6, page 187).
The changes in this NPRM 08-01 Supplement involve the proposed retention of the status quo of 60 minutes
for the EDTO threshold time for twin turbine engine aeroplanes on extended range operations instead of the originally proposed 90 EDTO threshold time.
