Notice of Intention to Apply for Approval of Code of Practice

Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority (ERMA) gives notice that the Environmental Risk Management Agency intends to apply for approval of the Code of Practice for the Design and Installation of Below Ground Petroleum Stationary Container Systems, and the Code of Practice for the Operation of Below Ground Petroleum Stationary Container Systems.
These codes have been developed by the Environmental Risk Management Agency and set out a means of compliance with the requirements of clauses 33(a), 73(3)(a)(iii), 73(3)(b)(iii) and 86 of the Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled
Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004 (as amended),
for stationary container systems that are installed below ground.
The codes are the result of further work following the first round of submissions on Below Ground Petroleum Stationary Container Systems at the beginning of 2010.
The original document has now been split into two separate documents.
