Notice is hereby given, in accordance with section 23(1)(b) of the Public Works Act 1981, that the Waitakere City Council (“Council”) proposes to take part of the land situated at 431 Swanson Road, Ranui, Waitakere City, and more particularly described in the Schedule hereto (“the land”).
The land is required for library purposes and it is intended to use the land for the development of a new library in Ranui.
The reasons why Waitakere City Council considers it is reasonably necessary to take this interest in the land described in the Schedule are:
(a) There is an established community need for library services in Ranui which will be best provided from a dedicated library building;
(b) there is no suitable land in Ranui presently available for sale on the open market; and
(c) an assessment of a range of alternative sites identified this property as the preferred site.
The owner of the land and those persons with a registered interest in it have been served with notice of the Council’s intention to take the land and of their right to object.
Any other person having a right to object to the proposed taking of the said land may forward a written objection
to the Registrar, Environment Court, Department of Courts, Level 8, 3 Kingston Street, Auckland 1010, or to PO Box 7147, Wellesley Street, Auckland 1141, within 20 working days of the date of publication of this notice.
If any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing will be held.
The objector will have a right to appear and be heard personally unless the objector otherwise requires.
Each objector will be informed of the time and place of the hearing.
