Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager for the Otago Conservancy of the Department
of Conservation classifies the reserve described in the Schedule as a local purpose (site for cribs) reserve and appoints the Gemmells Crossing Camp Committee to control and manage the reserve in trust for that purpose for a term of one year from 1 July 2009.
