Amendment to the Open Season for Game in Fish and Game Regions

Pursuant to sections 15 and 16 of the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Conservation amends the entry for the North Canterbury Fish and Game Region on pages 885 and 886 of the Open Season for Game in Fish and Game Regions notice, published as a Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, No. 32, on Friday, 13 March 2009, as follows.
On page 885, under the heading:
“1 Game That May be Hunted or Killed”
please delete the existing provision for “Cock pheasant” and replace with the following two provisions under the headings specified below:
Species Season Duration
(dates inclusive) Daily Bag Limit Hunting Area
“Cock pheasant 6 and 7 Jun 2009 (two days only) 1 All areas excluding the upland game property with special conditions specified in clause 5.2 for this Region.
Pheasant (both sexes) 1 June to 30 September 2009 No limit The upland game property with special conditions specified in clause 5.2 for this Region.”
and below the provision for “Chukar”, please insert the following provision under the same headings:
“Red Legged Partridge 1 June to 30 September 2009 No limit The upland game property with special conditions specified in clause 5.2 for this Region.”
On page 886, please delete all of “5” and replace with
“5 Special Conditions
5.1 No person shall wilfully leave on the hunting ground the bodies or parts of bodies of any game bird shot in this region.
5.2 Upland Game Properties with Special Conditions
That fenced area of Hopefield Station identified as Section DP2124 DP19934, DP22565, DP33288, located on the property “Hopefield” on the Leader Road, between Waiau and State Highway 1. The Hopefield property is owned by the HM Satterthwaite Trust.”
