Notice of Requirements for Product Certification Accreditation Body

Pursuant to section 262 of the Building Act 2004, notice
is given of requirements for the product certification accreditation body appointed under section 261 of the Act.
Minimum frequency of audits
The minimum frequency of audits that the product certification accreditation body must conduct on accredited product certification bodies must be not less than:
(a) one surveillance audit of each product certification body at intervals of two years; and
(b) one full technical reassessment audit of each product certification body at intervals of five years
to confirm that accredited product certification bodies are meeting the criteria and standards prescribed in the Building (Product Certification) Regulations 2008.
Other matters
The product certification accreditation body shall ensure that product certification activities are conducted in a manner consistent with the CodeMark Scheme Rules – Australia and New Zealand (Version 2007.2, 30 November 2007).
