Recognition of First Aid Qualifications in Early Childhood Centres

Pursuant to Regulations 25(3) and 38 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, the Secretary for Education hereby recognises all first aid qualifications arising from courses that:
(a) are delivered by a New Zealand Qualifications Authority accredited first aid provider; and
(b) meet the requirements of Unit Standard 6400 (or any successor to the Unit Standard); and
(c) are evidenced by a certificate issued by the trainer that is valid for a period of up to two years following qualification; and
(d) require a refresher course every two years to maintain the certificate as current.
This notice replaces the Recognition of First Aid Qualifications in Early Childhood Centres notice dated
the 6th day of November 2008, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette, 13 November 2008, No. 175, page 4519, pursuant to the above-mentioned Regulations.
This notice does not revoke other notices previously issued under the above-mentioned Regulations and it comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the
New Zealand Gazette.
