Pursuant to section 24 of the Crown Minerals Act 1991, the Minister of Energy and Resources advises that the closing date for receipt of bids for petroleum exploration permits in New Zealand's Offshore Northland Basin has been extended from 28 January 2010* to 18 August 2010.

Additional seismic data will be made available towards the end of 2009.

in the Crown Minerals Act 1991, the Crown Minerals (Petroleum) Regulations 2007 and the Minerals Programme for Petroleum 2005.
