Amendment to Maternity Services Notice

Pursuant to section 13 of the Interpretation Act 1999,
I amend by way of correction the notice headed Maternity Services Notice, pursuant to section 88 of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000, and published in the Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, 13 April 2007, No. 41, page 1025, in the following respects:
(a) by deleting the definition of “general practitioner” in clause “B5 Other definitions” and inserting:
“general practitioner means a health practitioner who is, or is deemed to be, registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (established by the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003) and holds an annual practising certificate and is either registered with the vocational scope of general practice or whose scope of practice allows the health practitioner to work in general practice.”
(b) by deleting the wording under clause 12(1)(a) of Schedule 3 and inserting:
“a general practitioner, meaning a health practitioner who is, or is deemed to be, registered with the Medical Council of
New Zealand (established by the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003) and holds an annual practising certificate and is either registered with the vocational scope of general practice or whose scope of practice allows the health practitioner to work in general practice, and holds a Diploma in Obstetrics (or equivalent, as determined by the New Zealand College of General Practitioners); or”
