Pursuant to sections 4(1) and 8(1) of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the National Rural Fire Authority hereby makes the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Pumicelands Rural Fire District Amendment Notice 2009 Amendment No. 1.
(2) This notice comes into force 28 days after publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
2. Amendment of Rural Fire District Notice—
The principal notice* is hereby amended by revoking
clause 4 of the notice and substituting it with the following:
Administration of the Pumicelands Rural Fire
District—(1) For the purposes of the Forest and Rural
Fires Act 1977, the Pumicelands Rural Fire District shall
be administered by the Pumicelands Rural Fire Committee.
(2) The committee shall consist of eight members as follows:
(a) One person appointed, in writing, by Taumata Plantations Company, under the signature of its chief executive; and
(b) one person appointed by Timberlands Limited under the signature of its chief executive; and
(c) one person appointed by Taiki Plantations Company under the signature of its chief executive; and
(d) one person appointed by OTPP New Zealand Forest Investments Limited under the signature of its chief executive; and
(e) one person appointed, in writing, by the Department of Conservation under the signature of its director-general; and
(f) one person appointed in writing by the National President of the New Zealand Farm Forestry Association after such consultation as the national president considers appropriate; and
(g) one person appointed in writing by the chief executives of Otorohanga District Council, Western Bay of Plenty District Council, South Waikato District Council, Rotorua District Council,
Taupo District Council, Whakatane District Council, Opotiki District Council, Gisborne District
Council, after such consultation as the Chief Executives consider appropriate; and
(h) one person appointed by the New Zealand Fire Service under the signature of its chief executive.
(3) This clause shall be read together with and be deemed to be part of the principal notice*.
