Pursuant to section 161(3) of the Land Transport Act 1998, notification is given of the making of the Land Transport (Road User) Amendment Rule 2009 (Rule 61001/4).
This amendment Rule makes changes to the Land Transport (Road User) Rule 2004, which governs the behaviour of all road users, including drivers, riders, passengers, pedestrians and people leading or driving animals.
The changes are aimed at improving road safety, clarifying existing requirements, improving compliance, assisting enforcement and improving the efficiency of traffic flow.
The Land Transport (Road User) Amendment Rule 2009 comes into force on 1 November 2009.
It is available for inspection free of charge at the National Office of the NZ Transport Agency, PSIS House,
20 Ballance Street, Wellington.
