Pursuant to section 79(5) of the Hazardous Substances
and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority advises that it approved on 20 July 2009, HSNOCOP 35-1 the Code of Practice for the Transport and Transfer of Explosives.
This code of practice has been developed by HazKnow Limited to address the requirements for the transport
of Class 1 explosives by road or rail and the transfer of these from one mode of transport to another.
This code is intended to provide a means of compliance
with the requirements for the safe transport and transfer of Class 1 explosives specified in the:
- Hazardous Substances (Classes 1 to 5 Controls) Regulations 2001; and
- Hazardous Substances (Emergency Management) Regulations 2001.
Pursuant to section 80(1)(a) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, this code can be inspected
