On 17 September 2008, the Commerce Commission
(“the Commission”) released its Final Determination for the Telecommunications Service Obligation (“TSO”) Instrument for Local Residential Service for the period between 1 July 2005 and 30 June 2006.
The Commission, acting pursuant to section 90(a) of the Telecommunications Act 2001 (“the Act”), made the final determination in respect of the matters set out in section 92 of the Act for the TSO instrument for the local residential telephone service.
Pursuant to section 90(b) of the Act, the Commission gives public notice of its final determination.

The transitional provisions for the TSO determinations
that were enacted under the Telecommunications Amendment Act (No. 2) 2006 (“Amendment Act”) allowed the Commission to complete the 2005/06 final TSO Determination as if the Act had not been amended by the Amendment Act.
