Pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992, full recognition for the Plastics and Materials Processing Industry Training Organisation Incorporated has been granted for a further period of five years, with effect from 19 February 2009 to 19 February 2014, to set standards at Levels 1-8
on the National Qualifications Framework for the plastics industry (defined as the conversion of polymers into end products or componentry for other products, including
but not limited to plastics moulding, extruding, forming, conversion and fabrication processes); glass production, glass processing and glass engineering for glass blowing
and bottle manufacturing; paint, ink, resin and adhesives manufacturing; and the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector (excluding compounding of medicines in community and hospital pharmacies).
