Relinquishment of Bank Registration

Pursuant to section 71 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1989, the name of ABN AMRO Bank N.V. was removed from the Register of Registered Banks on 29 May 2009.
Pursuant to section 65(1)(a) of the Reserve Bank of
New Zealand Act 1989, the Reserve Bank has authorised ABN AMRO Bank N.V. to continue using the
name ABN AMRO Bank N.V. after de-registration.
The authorisation has been granted subject to the condition that ABN AMRO Bank N.V. carries on in New Zealand only certain specified activities and the condition that it
uses only the name ABN AMRO Bank N.V. in carrying on those specified activities.
The Reserve Bank has granted this authorisation to enable ABN AMRO Bank N.V. to complete the winding up of its New Zealand business.
This authorisation will, unless amended, expire as at the close of business on 31 July 2009.
