Pursuant to section 79(5) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (“HSNO Act”), the Environmental Risk Management Authority advises that it has approved
on 24 March 2009, the Code of Practice for Exempt Laboratories – Manufacturing Research and Development.
This code is intended to provide a means of compliance with the requirements with the Hazardous Substances (Exempt Laboratories) Regulations for small scale research and development or testing involving hazardous substances.
This code has been developed by Agcarm Incorporated, and while it is intended primarily for the use of laboratories in the agricultural chemical and veterinary medicine industries, it may also be applied elsewhere.
Pursuant to section 80(1) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, this code may be inspected on request at the Wellington office of the Environmental Risk Management Authority of New Zealand, Level 1, BP House, 20 Customhouse Quay, Wellington.
