Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate those powers under section 16 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to Maritime New Zealand
by an instrument of delegation dated 19 March 1997.
And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994 and section 73 of the Crown Entities Act 2004, Maritime New Zealand did delegate those powers under section 16 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime New Zealand by an instrument of delegation dated 17 January 2008.
Therefore I, Catherine Taylor, Director of Maritime
New Zealand, hereby appoint the following persons as protection officers for the purposes of the Submarine
Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996:
- John Robert Henare, of Wellington
- Scott Cameron Bernie, of Wellington
- Kelsey Raymond Walker, of Wellington
- Aaron Bruce Mendoza, of Wellington
- Andrew George Sealey, of Wellington
- Barry Douglas Lanauze, of Wellington
- Brenda Joy O'Leary, of Wellington
- Gerald Rasmus Anderson, of Wellington
- Craig James Wallace, of Wellington
- Ross William Thurston, of Wellington
provided they remain employees of the Ministry of Fisheries; and
- Cameron James Heron, of Wellington
- Tarren Roy Schneller, of Wellington
- Paul Aaron Greene, of Wellington
- David Anthony Neblett, of Wellington
in respect of aerial patrols of the protected area designated "Area 7 - Cook Strait"; and
- Matthew William Rushton, of Wellington
in respect of marine patrols of the protected area designated "Area 7 - Cook Strait".
These appointments shall commence on 31 March 2009.
