Pursuant to section 69ZE of the Telecommunications
Act 2001 (“the Act”), the Commerce Commission
(“Commission”) gives public notice that it has issued requirements for the accounting separation of Telecom under Part 2B of the Act.
These requirements apply for the Telecom financial years ending June 2009 and June 2010, and are made pursuant
to sections 69ZB and 69ZD of the Act.
Under section 69ZB of the Act, the Commission must require Telecom to prepare and disclose information about the operation and behaviour of all or any of its network, wholesale, or retail business activities as if these activities were operated as independent or unrelated companies.
The Commission may also require Telecom to prepare and disclose information about separate business activities or services within the network, wholesale, or retail categories.
