Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 ("HSNO Act"), the Environmental Risk Management Authority ("Authority") gives notice that Ragasco (Norway) intends to apply for the approval of the Code of Practice for Gas Cylinders of Composite Construction Designed to EN 12245.
Under Regulation 10(c) of the Hazardous Substances (Compressed Gases) Regulations 2004, the Authority may approve a code of practice that specifies requirements equivalent to the requirements of a standard referred to in Regulation 10(a).
Ragasco (Norway) has applied for the code of practice to be approved under this Regulation.
The standard EN 12245 specifies requirements for the design and construction of transportable fully wrapped composite cylinders.
This code will be open for submissions from 7 May 2009 and submissions will close on 8 June 2009.
The code is available from or can be inspected at the Wellington office of ERMA New Zealand, Level 1,
