Pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992,
full recognition for the New Zealand Flooring Industry Training Organisation Incorporated has been granted for a further period of five years, with effect from 27 November 2008 to 27 November 2013, to set standards at Levels 1 to 8 on the National Qualifications Framework for the flooring industry in the areas of production, distribution, sales, and installation of resilient/soft flooring and associated flooring surfaces excluding the production, distribution, sales, installation and maintenance of flooring surfaces such as slate, cement/clay tiles and pavers, ceramic tiles and natural stone, and liquid floor coatings, seamless flooring and screeds.
