On 16 December 2008, Equitable Property Holdings Limited, being the holder of a general security agreement dated the 7th day of May 2004 and registered at the Companies Office on 10 May 2004 issued to it by GOLDRIDGE HOTEL LIMITED, appointed Timothy Wilson Downes and Trevor Francis Thornton, chartered accountants of Auckland and Christchurch respectively, jointly and severally as receivers and managers of all the undertaking, property and assets of the company.
