Cancelling and Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

On the recommendation of the Maori Land Court, the Maori land known as Oraeroa Block in the notice dated the 24th day of July 2000 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 17 August 2000, No. 92, page 2290, was set aside as a Maori reservation.
Pursuant to section 243 of the Resource Management Act 1991, the Franklin District Council approved the subdivision and as a result the parent title known as Oraeroa Block became Lot 1 DP 325877 and Lots 2 and 3 DP 325877.
To ensure that the legal description of the Maori reservation is correct, the Maori Land Court makes a recommendation, pursuant to section 338(5)(b) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, to cancel the said Maori reservation in respect of Oraeroa Block and, pursuant to section 338(1) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, that the Maori freehold lands described in the Schedule hereto, are hereby set apart as a Maori reservation for the purposes of a marae, papakainga and burial ground known as Ringaiti and school grounds for the common use and benefit of the Ngati Tahinga tribe.
