Notice of Intention to Take Land for Road-99-177 Halsey Street, Auckland

Notice is hereby given that the Auckland City Council
("the council") under the provisions of section 23 of
the Public Works Act 1981, proposes to take land described in the Schedule hereto ("the land").
The land is required for roading purposes.
The intended taking is considered reasonably necessary:
- to facilitate the redevelopment of the Wynyard Quarter of the Auckland Waterfront;
- to provide pedestrian access along the foreshore;
- to provide access to the proposed Te Wero Bridge; and
- to assist with the redevelopment and integration of existing and new transport options, and improve pedestrian and cycling connections.
The land use is in accordance with the proposed designation under the district plan.
The owners of the land and those persons with a registered interest in have been served with notice of the council's intention to take the land and advised of their right to object.
Any other person having the right to object may send
a written objection to the Registrar, Environment Court, Tribunals Division, Department for Courts, PO Box 7147, Wellesley Street, Auckland, within 20 working days after the date of publication of this notice.
If any objection is made in accordance with this notice,
a public hearing will be held.
The objector will have a right to appear and be heard personally, unless the objector otherwise requires.
Each objector will be informed of the time and place of
the hearing.
