Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal Decision-Enrolled Nurse

The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal, in a decision dated the 11th day of December 2007, pursuant to the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, determined that Karen Fogarty, enrolled nurse, was guilty of professional misconduct and also determined that she
had been convicted of offences that reflected adversely on her fitness to practise as a nurse.
The tribunal cancelled her registration and ordered that Karen Fogarty pay $1,250.00 towards the cost of the hearing by the tribunal and $1,250.00 towards the costs incurred by the professional conduct committee.
The tribunal also ordered that summaries of its decision be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand, the New Zealand Nursing Review, the Nursing Council of New Zealand's newsletter and on the tribunal's website.
