Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians (Fees) Amendment Notice 2008

Pursuant to section 130 of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, the following notice is given.
N o t i c e
1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians (Fees) Amendment Notice 2008.
(2) This notice comes into force on 1 April 2008 and applies to fees payable in respect of applications relating to the period on and after 1 April 2008.
2. Fees—The Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board sets the following fees payable to the board specified in the attached Schedule.
3. Tax—The fee is inclusive of goods and services tax.

Application for registration:
(a) for New Zealand and Australia trained optometrists and dispensing opticians 330.00
(b) under the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act 1997 330.00
(c) for overseas trained optometrists 650.00
(d) for assessment of an overseas qualification 1,100.00
Application for an annual practising certificate (for maintaining registration and communication fee, and for the recording of continuing professional development) for dispensing opticians who are practising 560.00
Application for an annual practising certificate (for maintaining registration and communication fee, and for the recording of continuing professional development) for optometrists and educator optometrists who are practising 650.00
Application for an annual practising certificate (for maintaining registration and communication fee, and for the recording of continuing professional development) for optometrists (TPA) and educator optometrists (TPA) who are practising 700.00
Application for an annual practising certificate fee for new graduates (from New Zealand and Australia registering in their first year of practice) 350.00
Reissue of an annual practising certificate to remove conditions within the current annual practising certificate year 58.00
Application for an annual practising certificate fee for practitioners on the Registers of Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians holding a practising certificate in the year 1 April to 31 March who purchase a certificate for the following year after the expiration of their current practising certificate (after 31 March) and who are still practising after 31 March 100.00(in additionto APC fee)
Maintaining registration and communication fee for practitioners who are non-practising 100.00
Maintaining registration and communication fee, and recording of continuing professional development for practitioners who are non-practising 300.00
