Notice Declaring Clean Zones and Clean Periods for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2008

Pursuant to section 16(1) of the Major Events Management Act 2007 (“the Act”), the Minister for Economic Development gives the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Commencement and purpose—This notice, which comes into force on the day of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette, declares clean zones and clean periods, pursuant to section 16(1) of the Act, for the semi-finals and finals of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2008.
2. FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2008 semi-finals clean zone: Queen Elizabeth II Park, Christchurch (“QEII Park”)—
(a) The following area, including QEII Park Stadium, Christchurch, is declared to be a clean zone for the clean period referred to in subclause (b):
The area bordered by, and including, the footpaths on the south side of Travis Road (between the western boundary of QEII Park and the Travis Road entrance), the Travis Road entrance to QEII Park (from Travis Road to Dick Tayler Drive), Dick Tayler Drive (from the Travis Road entrance to QEII Park to the south eastern end of the car park), the south-eastern car park area adjacent to Dick Tayler Drive, Janie Parkhouse Drive (from the car park area to the south eastern corner of the QEII Park Aquatic facility, the eastern side of the QEII Park Aquatic facility to the QEII Park No. 2 ground, the southern side of the QEII Park No. 2 Ground, and the boundary between the western side of QEII Park and the Ascot Golf Course and QEII Golf Park (between Travis Road and the QEII Park No. 2 Ground).
(b) The clean period for the clean zone described in subclause (a) is from 12.01am on Thursday, 13 November 2008 until 11.59pm on Thursday, 13 November 2008.
3. FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2008 finals clean zone: North Harbour Stadium, Auckland—
(a) The following area, including North Harbour Stadium, Auckland, is declared to be a clean zone for the clean period referred to in subclause (b):
The area bordered by, and including, the footpaths on the north-west side of Oteha Valley Road (between Appian Way and State Highway 17), the west side of State Highway 17 (between Oteha Valley Road and Coliseum Drive), the south side of Coliseum Drive (between State Highway 17 and Don McKinnon Drive), the east sign of Don McKinnon Drive (between Coliseum Drive and Appian Way), and the north-east side of Appian Way (between Oteha Valley Road and Don McKinnon Drive).
(b) The clean period for the clean zone described in sub clause (a) is from 12.01am on Sunday, 16 November 2008 until 11.59pm on Sunday, 16 November 2008.
4. Excluded land and buildings—For the avoidance of doubt, the clean zones declared in clauses 2 and 3 do not include any excluded land or buildings, as defined in section 16(5) of the Act.
