Pursuant to section 5 of the District Courts Act 1947,
and on the recommendation of the Attorney-General, after consultation with the Minister for the Environment and
the Minister of Maori Affairs, pursuant to section 250
of the Resource Management Act 1991, His Excellency,
the Governor-General of New Zealand, has been pleased
to appoint
Jane Evelyn Borthwick, barrister of Christchurch
to be a District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction within New Zealand and to be an Environment Judge of the Environment Court on and from 11 November 2008.
