Pursuant to section 4 of the Judicature Act 1908,
His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand, in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, has been pleased to appoint
Joseph Victor Williams, Chief Judge of the Maori Land Court
to be a Judge of the High Court, the appointment to take effect on 15 September 2008.
