Pursuant to section 65ZD(3) of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance makes the following statement:
“On 27 August 2008 I, The Honourable Dr Michael John Cullen, Minister of Finance, on behalf of the Crown, gave an indemnity to United Airlines Incorporated
of Denver, Colorado as contained in United Airlines Incorporated’s contract with the New Zealand Defence Force for the provision of flight training services.
The indemnity relates to any claim brought against United Airlines Incorporated by third parties arising from military flight operations undertaken by the
Royal New Zealand Air Force, and is effective from
the date of the contract.”
