I make the following notice under section 344 of the Education Act 1989.
N o t i c e
1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Education (National Student Numbers) Notice (No 2) 2008.
(2) This notice shall take effect on the day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
2. Use of national student numbers by Statistics
New Zealand—(1) Statistics New Zealand is authorised to use national student numbers for the purposes specified in
subclause 2 of this clause.
(2) Statistics New Zealand may use national student numbers only for one or more of the following purposes:
? Statistical purposes.
? Research purposes.
