Pursuant to section 161(3) of the Land Transport Act 1998, notification is hereby given of the making of Land Transport Rule: Operator Licensing Amendment 2008, which amends Land Transport Rule: Operator Licensing 2007.
The amendment Rule makes changes relating to transport service licence cards, Area Knowledge Certificates, exemptions relating to Certificates of Knowledge of Law and Practice, “special interest vehicles”, and requires all taxi operators to belong to an approved taxi organisation.
With the exception of some provisions relating to taxi services, which will come into force on a date to be notified in the New Zealand Gazette, the Rule comes into force on
1 August 2009.
Land Transport Rule: Operator Licensing Amendment 2008 (Rule 81001/1) is available for inspection free of charge at the National Office of the NZ Transport Agency, Victoria Arcade, 44 Victoria Street, Wellington, and for purchase in October 2008 at selected bookshops that sell legislation.
