Pursuant to section 79(5) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (“HSNO Act”), the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that it has approved the Management of Explosive Samples as a code of practice under the HSNO Act.
This code is a means of compliance with Regulation 12
of the Hazardous Substances (Classes 1 to 5 Controls) Regulations 2001.
This code has been developed by the Aviation Security Service in conjunction with the New Zealand Police and the New Zealand Customs Service and sets out the minimum levels of practice for the management of explosives samples for training of explosive detector dogs.
This code can be inspected at the Wellington office of ERMA New Zealand, Level 1, BP House, 20 Customhouse Quay, Wellington, and will be available from the New Zealand Aviation Security Service.
