Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (“HSNO Act”), the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that Peggemma Properties intends to apply for the approval of a Code of Practice for Explosives Approved Handlers for Land Blasting Operations.
This code has been produced to provide more specific qualification criteria for approved handlers involved in land blasting operations.
On approval of this code of practice, it is intended that HSNO COP 5-1, Approved Handler Certificates Explosives, will be revised to remove the references to land operations in sections 2 and 3.5.
