Notice of Intention to Assign or Alter or Remove Place Names

Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice is hereby given of the intention of the
New Zealand Geographic Board Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa to assign new place names or alter existing place names or remove existing place names, stated in the first column of the Schedule below, to the respective places described in the second column of the said Schedule.
Objection to the proposed new or altered or removed place names may be given in writing, setting out the grounds for objection, to the Secretary of the New Zealand Geographic Board, care of Land Information New Zealand, Private Box 5501, Wellington 6145, within a period of three months from the date of the New Zealand Gazette containing this notice.

North Auckland Land District
Waimango Point Coastal point on the north-western shores of the Firth of Thames, topographic map 260-S11 Waiheke, GR 136 656. Spelling alteration from Waimangu Point.

New Zealand Undersea Feature Names to be Removed
Norman Rocks 47°43.17'S Latitude, 178°57.10'E Longitude. Formerly underwater rocks, 6.5kmnorth-west of the Bounty Islands. Recorded as Norman Rocks on earlier charts but the feature no longer exists. Hydrographic Chart NZ 3111. Norman Rocks removed from the latest chart.
Rosario Rock 47°48.96'S Latitude, 178°58.50'E Longitude. Formerly underwater rock, 7.5kmsouth-west of the Bounty Islands. Recorded as Rosario Rock on earlier charts but the feature no longer exists. Hydrographic Chart NZ 3111. Rosario Rock removed fromthe latest chart.
