Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Conservator, West Coast Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, classifies the reserve described in the First Schedule as a local purpose (public utility) reserve and further describes the reserve described in the Second Schedule as a recreation reserve, subject to the provisions of the Act.
