Pursuant to section 27(3) of the Wild Animal Control Act 1977, the Director-General of Conservation varies the notice forming the Kaweka Recreational Hunting Area dated the 17th day of January 1986 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 23 January 1986, No. 7, page 220, by allowing commercial hunting within the recreational hunting area for the period commencing on and including 1 November 2007 and expiring on and including 31 October 2012.
The director-general also permits for the same time period hunting within all of the recreational hunting area by
wild animal recovery hunters under the supervision of the Department of Conservation.
