Notice of the Decisions of the Minister for Land Information on Assigning or Altering Place Names

Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notices were given on 14 December 2006 of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa to assign the new or altered place names stated in the first column of the Schedule below, to the respective places described in the second column of the said Schedule. Objections were received to these proposed names and were dealt with pursuant to section 13 of the said Act.
I hereby declare my decisions, made on 22 May 2007 and 24 May 2007, are that the names of these places shall be as referred to in the first column of the Schedule below, as described in the second column of the said Schedule, and that these decisions take effect on 15 June 2007.
Schedule
North Auckland Land District
Flat Bush New locality/town in Manukau City, generally bounded west by East Tamaki andOtara, north by East Tamaki Heights, east by low lying catchment hills, and south by Totara Heights. Topographic map 260-R11 Auckland, GR 808 688. Re-establishing and re-positioning Flat Bush over this area, to which it has been historically applied.
Hatea River River flowing generally southerly from the Whangarei Falls, adjacent to Whangareicity, and into the Whangarei Harbour, topographic maps 260-Q06/Pt R06 Hukerenuiand 260-Q07 Whangarei, source: GR 316 121, approximate confluence: GR 330 040. Spelling alteration from Hatea River.
Nelson Land District
Mount Crusader Mountain at height 1428m, located between Mount McMahon and Hoary Head in the Arthur Range, with an un-beaconed trig station “A6MC, F Crusader” at its summit, topographic map 260-N27 Moutere, GR 926 068. Long term local usage, but not named on current map.
