Notice of Final Decisions to Assign or Remove Place Names in the Ross Sea Region, Antarctica

Notice is hereby given of the final decisions of the New Zealand Geographic Board Nga Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa to assign the place names stated in the first column of Schedule 1 below, to the places described in the second column of the said Schedule, and to remove the place names stated in the first column of Schedule 2 below, to the places described in the second column of the said Schedule, and that such decisions take effect on the date of the New Zealand Gazette containing this notice.
Schedule 1
New Zealand Names to be Assigned
Ashworth Glacier 85º01'36?S Latitude 169º15'53?E Longitude. Glacier flowing west from the Supporters Range into Mill Glacier, near Plunket Point. Topographic map SV 51-60/8 Plunket Point (1:250,000).
Rose Rock 71°17.48'S Latitude 170°13.4'E Longitude. The inner rock of what was formerlyThe Sisters (refer Schedule 2 below), located off the northern extremity of Cape Adare, in northern Victoria Land. Topographic map SR 59-60/13 Cape Adare. Schedule 2
New Zealand Names to be Removed
The Sisters 71°17.4'S Latitude 170°13.2'E Longitude. Formerly two stacks, or pillar rocks, lying close to the northern tip of Cape Adare in northern Victoria Land. One was named Gertrude Rock (see below) which no longer exists, and the other remains Rose Rock (refer Schedule 1 above). Topographic map SR 59-60/13 Cape Adare. Gertrude Rock 71°17.35'S Latitude 170°13.2'E Longitude. Formerly the outermost of the two rocks called The Sisters (refer above), off the northernmost extremity of Cape Adare, in northern Victoria Land. Topographic map SR 59-60/13 Cape Adare.
