The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal ("the tribunal"), in a decision dated 21 May 2007, pursuant to
the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, determined that Dalip Chand, registered nurse, was guilty of four charges of professional misconduct.
The tribunal cancelled Dalip Chand's registration as a nurse.
It ordered that Dalip Chand must pay $3,000.00 as a contribution towards the tribunal's costs and $3,000.00 as
a contribution towards the professional conduct committee's costs.
It also directed that the details of this decision are to be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand, New Zealand Nursing Review and the newsletter of the Nursing Council of New Zealand, with express reference being made to Dalip Chand's name.
