The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal ("the tribunal"), in a decision dated 5 June 2007, pursuant to the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, determined that Judith Renau, registered nurse, was guilty of professional misconduct.
The tribunal cancelled Judith Renau's registration as a nurse and noted that this was the only possible outcome given the seriousness of the circumstances.
It ordered that Judith Renau must pay 50% of the tribunal's costs and 50% of the professional conduct committee's costs.
It also directed that the details of this decision are to be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand, New Zealand Nursing Review and the newsletter of the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
B. A. CORKILL, Chairperson, Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal.
