The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal ("the tribunal"), in a decision dated 11 May 2007 pursuant to the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, determined that Gayle Plasmeyer, enrolled nurse, had been convicted of offences that reflected adversely on her fitness to practise as a nurse.
The tribunal cancelled Gayle Plasmeyer's registration as a nurse. She was ordered to pay $1,000.00 as a contribution towards the total costs and expenses of and incidental to the hearing by the tribunal and inquiry by the professional conduct committee.
The tribunal also directed that a notice stating the effects
of the tribunal's decision should be published in the
New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand, New Zealand Nursing Review and the newsletter of the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
