Pursuant to section 65ZD(3) of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance makes the following statement:
“On 1 November 2007 I, The Honourable Dr Michael John Cullen, Minister of Finance, on behalf of the Crown, gave an indemnity to Airways Corporation of New Zealand Limited (Airways) as contained in Airways’ contract with the New Zealand Defence Force for the provision of air traffic control services. The indemnity relates to any claim brought against Airways by third parties arising from military flight operations undertaken by the Royal New Zealand Air Force, and is effective from the date of the contract.”
