Notice of End of Process for Making and Determining Victims’ Claims

Take notice that, pursuant to Part 2 (subpart 2) of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“the Act”), compensation awarded to Jonathan James Samuel was paid to the Secretary for Justice on 30 June 2006,
and the surplus was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 31 July 2006 on behalf of Jonathan James Samuel to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.
And that on 25 November 2006, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, and the Ministry of Justice website, of the sum of money paid into the trust account, and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.
Under section 32 of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the money held in the trust account on behalf of Jonathan James Samuel.
