Pursuant to sections 4D(1) and 4D(3B) of the Education Act 1989, I give the following notice.
N o t i c e
1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Education (Board Fees Reimbursement for Foreign Students) Notice 2007.
(2) This notice will come into effect on 1 January 2008.
2. Fees to be reimbursed by boards to the Crown—Every board of trustees of a State school and State integrated school must pay to the Secretary for Education a fee of $900.00 (including GST) in respect of each foreign student enrolled at the school.
3. Formula prescribed for payment to integrated school proprietors—The formula prescribed for determining the portion of the fee paid under clause 2 of this notice, to be paid to the proprietors of an integrated school in accordance with section 4D(3A) of the Education Act 1989, is:
The total amount of the fee payable under clause 2 of this notice for each foreign student enrolled at the school, less the amount determined by the Minister to be attributed to system costs, equals the portion of the fee
to be paid to proprietors.
From 1 January 2008, the respective amounts are:
$900.00 – $410.00 = $490.00 (including GST).
4. Revocation—This notice revokes the Education (Board Fees Reimbursement for Foreign Students) Notice 2004, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 24 June 2004, No. 76, page 1841.
