Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (“HSNO Act”), the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that Luxfer Gas Cylinders Australia intends to apply for the approval of a Code of Practice as a new design standard for gas cylinders of Hoop Wrapped Composite Construction.
The standard is ISO 11119–1 Part 1 (2002).
Under Regulation 10(c) of the Hazardous Substances (Compressed Gases) Regulations 2004, the Authority may approve a code of practice that specifies requirements equivalent to the requirements of a standard referred to in Regulation 10(a).
Luxfer Gas Cylinders Australia has applied for ISO 11119–1 Part 1 to be approved under this Regulation.
