Pursuant to section 79(5) of the Hazardous Substances
and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority advises that it has approved the Code of Practice for Labelling of Hazardous Substances.
This code is intended to provide a means of compliance
with the requirements of the regulations made under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 for identification of hazardous substances.
These requirements are principally contained in Part 1 of
the Hazardous Substances (Identification) Regulations
2001, Part 2 of the Hazardous Substances (Emergency Management) Regulations 2001, and Regulations 11 and 12 of the Hazardous Substances (Disposal) Regulations 2001.
