I, John Norman Keith Mansell, General Manager, Maritime Operations, Maritime New Zealand, pursuant to sections 47(2)(b)(iii) and 47(2)(c) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, and acting under delegated authority, hereby give notice as follows:
The masters of ro-ro ships and shippers of road freight,
road tank and road livestock vehicles are exempt
from the requirements of Maritime Rules 24B.10(2) and 24B.10(3) in respect of the following vehicles:
(a) road freight, road tank and road livestock semi-trailers (with or without tractor units); and
(b) road freight, road tank and road livestock vehicles which are being freighted for delivery without payload.
This exemption is valid until 30 June 2009.
